I am to travel to New Delhi, India from Denver, CO on American Airlines.
I am supposed to arrive Terminal 3 at Ohare (American Airlines) from Denver, CO and then catch a connecting flight to New Delhi from American Airlines.
I have only 50 minutes in between the two flights.
I would like to know the process for checking in/out, Baggage transport and Transit to one gate to the other.
Will I need to collect my baggage after I arrive to Ohare from Denver and then again have to check in with my baggage?
How long does it take for me to carry out entire process?
Should I be rescheduling my flight from Denver to a bit early? or 50 minutes time enough?
Do I need to go under Customs check before I get on board to my International flight?
Please help me!
Thanks in advance for your assistance…

You can check in and print your boarding passes from home using American Airlines’ website or you can check in at the airport. Even if you use the website, you’ll have to go to the American check-in counter at Denver to check your bags (you can’t use a skycap for international travel) and to have your entry documentation checked. The time required depends on how many people are in line and how few employees American assigns to the ticket counter. It could take a few minutes. It could take an hour. I would be at the airport at least two hours before departure in case there are lines at check-in and at security.
No, you do not have to transfer your checked bags. American will transfer them for you.
Fifty minutes is a bit tight, in my opinion. You will be fine if everything is on schedule. If your flight out of Denver departs late, then you may have problems. I always leave 90-120 minutes for international connections. I’d rather have time to spare than miss the second flight and have to wait until the following day for the next flight. However, it may be very expensive for you to change your flight now if you are flying on a restricted fare and you already bought your ticket.
You will not go through Customs and Immigration until you arrive in India. You do that when you arrive in a foreign country, not when you depart. They only check for passports and visas, when they are required, when you depart. That will happen in Denver. When you return to the US, you will clear Customs and Immigration at the first port of entry in the US.
