Most of the discount websites offer similar fares, try one’s like http://www.airfaresflights.co.uk/flights-to/Bangkok.htm
http://www.kayak.co.uk/
They will check different discount websites for you and show the best prices for the dates you want to travel. I always will then check the websites of the airlines that show the best fares and book through the airline instead and sometimes offer fares not available on the discount sites. That way you don’t have to deal with a 3rd party and if you should need to make any changes or have any problems it’s a lot easier to deal with the airline than a 3rd party. It doesn’t hurt to contact a travel agent where you live as well, sometimes they can offer consolidated fares that aren’t available on airline or discount websites.
Last one I booked with ebookers – I prefer direct flights and went with EVA Air for £728 return including all taxes etc.
Look, since you are only gathering information on websites – DON’T FORGET to check with the airline’s websites too! It is the price the airlines are charging that you are trying to beat! Without knowing what the airlines are charging for a flight to Thailand how would you know if the price a discount website or bucket shop gives you is a low price?
Thai Airlines is supposed to be lowering their prices quite a bit, check with them.

You can also go to a nearby travel agency in your hometown. There is no charge for them to give you information on when is the best time to travel, what airlines leave your airport, how much a flight will cost, etc. There is no obligation to purchase this ticket from them. They will tell you what airlines have special prices too! This information is free! Of course the local travel agency wants you to use them to purchase a ticket from, if you can’t say no there how will you do on the streets of Thailand dealing with a street vendor?
Once you have the information on what airlines leave from your area to Asia then you can access those websites and put in your dates of travel. Different days different prices sometimes. Don’t fall in love with a particular departure date, sometimes just changing your departure up a few days or down a few days means a lot of money saved! The time of year you travel also affects the price you pay. Christmas, New Years holidays and some other holidays may also raise the price up. Departing on a weekend or holiday may even affect your price.
See a local travel agency for basic information and then access the airline websites to see what what the price is and if there are any specials going on. It is okay to see more than one local travel agency for information – it’s free!
Also, sign up for the frequent flier program, lots of miles from your country to Asia, couple trips more and the next trip could be free. If you have an elite card from an airline already see if you can use that so you get bonus miles, etc.
Good luck.
about 500 quid return incl. all taxes with ebookers.com Sometimes you can find slightly cheaper with a not so prestigious airline on ebookers – like 479 . Ethiad is quite comfortable/OK inflight entertainment&food and is usually about 500ish but you have to change planes in Abu D. Sometimes you can find some direct flight for about 520 on ebookers like Eva. I did a quick check last week to see if Thai’s promise to reduce ticket prices had come through on ebookers yet and it had. I picked a random date and it was 509 which is a really good price for a direct flight return ticket UK-Bangkok. Unfortunately, I don’t need a London-Bangkok-London ticket as I fly the other way Bangkok-London-Bangkok, but if I did I’d be booking the Thai airways flight on ebookers pdq as normally that flight costs 650 or more.
It’ll be interesting to see if Thai’s cutting the price starts a price war ‘coz if Thai is 509 for a direct flight, return, then Ethiad probably won’t get many customers at 505 with the hassle of a change of flights.
[Added 1 day later: To check out the final sentence I wrote yesterday, I just put a date in May returning June LHR-BKK-LHR into ebookers to see what happened - Ethiad 389; Emirates 459; Eva 479; Thai 501, etc. etc. so I guess that there has been a response. Wow, that is so cheap; less than 20,000 Baht.]
By far and I travel there 3 times a year is http://www.airlinenetwork.co.uk or now as its call http://www.netflights.com direct fom about 680 and stopover from about 480
